First Part of The WeekI relied heavily on Kelly Gladden this year for the photos, a few were donated by other members. Race Cars were the Spotlight class this
year but had a poor turnout, with only 4 in the show and
one in the flea market, but all 5 were very nice. As usual many members arrive early to
camp, spend time with old and new friends and explore
all the places in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana within a
few hours to a days drive away. Some get motel rooms for
the whole week and enjoy air conditioned rooms and maybe
a swimming pool. 2025 was a bit smaller this year for whatever reason, weather was predicted as bad all week but turned out ok, some rain and lots of heat but over all good. The count was over 100 cars on the grounds, between show, for sale and just driving around. Here is a short review of the first half of the week. Monday was the welcoming, Early
Bird Dinner/Picnic, with around 65 attending. The
Hawkeye Region was the host and Tyson Friday and family
served up some great smoked pulled pork BBQ with all the
trimmings while other members brought desserts. With
plenty of left overs to feed more. Lots of time to catch
up with friends we haven't seen in a year and meet new. The club had free donuts and
coffee at the main meet building on Tuesday. The
Tuesday Crosley Cruise-In, was a double this year, after
a hour or so at the sponsor, ACE Hardware
parking lot, they went to a rib-off downtown. From the pictures, the Wednesday
breakfast had a big turnout. The tech talks were well
attended. Crafts with Holly and Mary for the younger
members ran most days starting Wednesday. With the very
hot weather the Crosley style of BINGO called FARMO, in
our air conditioned auxiliary building, was very well
attended. Early Flea Market vendors opened as soon as
they were setup and had customers. |

Saturday - Show TimeThe Flea Market was down in size from last year but with a couple of new vendors and I hear most did well. Show field open, with each owner photographed and directed to the proper class on the show field. I hear reports of over 100 cars on the grounds, either on the show field, flea market or driving around. Show was cut short around noon when a thunderstorm moved through. A surprise was the 15 FORs this year, the most since they were the spot light class a few years ago. Valve Cover Races – hot competition after official weigh in and measurements made. 31 were registered to run. Crosley Kids Treasure Hunt with Holly. Silent Auction winners announced, lots of happy winners and not so happy losers. The car went to AZ Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony was held. Andy was re-elected and 4 general directors and a regional director elected. General discussions and reports. A scholarship check from the CAC Foundation was presented. Very nice custom awards presented to winners. The Memorial Picnic, our final meal of the week together was moved to air conditioned building, did I say it was hot. Nice turn out for a picnic meal. Many past members that have died or are in poor health were remembered and stories told. Show Day Photos |
