Pete Radford's great shop at Ocean County Vocational-Technical School at the Jersey Shore where he teaches "Employment Opportunities" and uses his fleet of old cars for class projects. He teach the kids a little of everything from tire changing thru oil changes, brake replacements, including cutting rotors, tune ups, exhaust work (using an exhaust pipe bender). He also introduce them to ARC, MIG, Gas Welding, the use of a Plasma Cutter, and cutting torches. They do a little body work, but concentrate more on the fabrication of special projects. He writes: “The kids love working on the Crosleys, because they know they can see them at local car shows and brag to their friends and parents, that they work on all of my "street" cars, including my 'Vette.” They also do a lot of oil change services for the local senior citizens, and have a car show to benefit a scholarship fund the first Saturday in May. Last year they had just over 100 cars, even though the weather wasn't cooperative. Pete finished up his note with: “I'm proud of my program, and my kids. The best move of my life was becoming a teacher, even though I waited until I was in my late fourties!”

Pete we're proud of you, your kids are lucky to have you to pass on your knowledge and sharing your toys.

Clell Ballard's garage in Fairfield Idaho. Showing his 1947 roundside pickup, he was getting it ready for paint in the picture. He says the good news is the new paint is on and it looks brand new. Clell has a wide variety of vehicles in his collection, from large World War 2 trucks all the way down. I have been reading about his collection in Skin Knuckles for years.

Dave Eager's garage in Evansville, IN, showing his wife Pat installing the radio in their 49 Hot Shot. Dave says fat fingers and a replacement knee and hip makes him rely the most “important” tool in his garage for some tasks.

This is Kim Wells helping out her husband Chad service their 1939 Crosley Convertible Coupe. Kim and Chad are from Totowa, NJ. Chad writes: “Of all the cars we have, this is the one she likes the best. And, after 12 years of a wonderful marriage, I finally got her into the garage to help. Unfortunately, I couldn't break her heart and tell her she was adding oil to the wrong place! Oh well, at least she's in the garage...:-)”

Bob Peterson of Cedar Rapids IA. His patio is his garage, this shot of him working on his 49 Wagon it was 10 degrees and no gloves. He does something with his Crosley every day of the year. Cold weather makes him work more efficiently. The funny looking thing in front of the radiator is the intercooler for his turbo.

Steve Rains (aka cutworm) of AR found this Coke cooler makes a good roll around stand for his Hot Shot in his garage shop. Looks like it might make an interesting chassis upgrade. Steve's current project is this CC sedan in the lower part of photo.

Dave Anspach has this cozy shop for restoration projects. As you can see not everyone needs a large fancy shop for doing first class restorations. Dave was restoring the chassis of his FarmOroad when this photo was taken last November(2009), it has since went on to win many awards.
