Can anyone tell me why a Crosley Engine surges sort of violently running in second gear at a steady speed? It has a new carburetor and rebuilt fuel pump.
Check for an intake manifold leak. Also carb to intake leak. I've seen new carbs with warped bases. Spray 2+2 carb cleaner and see if the idle picks up, keeping the spray away from the throttle shaft. Other than that, your into carb work.
Also check your float level, they will surge if it is set too low.
