2020 National
The C-19 virus got the Nationals for 2020 - The
board, club officers and other key people in the club
discussed the options for over 90 minutes before voting
unanimously to cancel 2020. Some of the reason below.
The state of Ohio, as of our meeting, had not lifted the
50 person max for gatherings and extended it till only 5
days before we were to start our gathering and could
extend again. Even if they did move to the next step in
time for out meet the restrictions would not allow us to
put on the family gathering we are use to for our
Nationals. Our meet chairman submitted a modified meet
plan in expectation of Ohio moving to the next step in
opening the state. Here are some of the change that would
have had to be made to have chance at approval from the
Fulton County Health Board.
Max number in attendance 200 including flea market
vendors - We had between 600-800 through out the
week last year plus locals stopping in to see our cars.
Only Pre-registration - To avoid turning people
away that have travel for the show.
No Fulton Manor display, Tiny’s Ice Cream Barn
gathering, and parade - All off fairground activity
would be dropped
No silent auction for this year - Can't control
that area
Face masks supplied and there use encouraged -
When 6 foot distancing not possible or inside buildings
All registrants name, address, and phone numbers
supplied to health department if requested. - This
would only be if it was believed an infected person
attended
Volunteers to clean/sanitize all bathrooms 3 times a
day - Only the ones used by our people, who would
volunteer for that duty.
Volunteer Enforcer - To tell people they are not
following the rules and follow the rules or leave
Not Open to non club members - Mainly aimed at
locals stopping but would also include non members that
traveled to the show to see what Crosleys were all about.
Lots of other details about food gatherings and other
things but you get the idea. Not the kind of show anyone
would want. Would vendors for the flea market want to
travel very far if only 200 people were there and some of
those are spouses and kids. We hope life has gotten easier
before 2021 and plan to pull out all stops for the
Nationals.
Hope you enjoyed the virtual car show.
