CAC 2006 Fun and Games - Friday

previousnext
Almost to much going on to do it all.  Most of the activities are put on by the regions and is a real fun day. Starting with a morning road rally/tour. The Skillathon had water race, slow race, precision coasting and bean bag toss.  Several Tech Sessions through the day and a 40 car parade in the late afternoon.  Then the evening session where region heads, vendors and members can tell what they have been up to and what is coming. We had 11 Crosleys on the morning tour to ProTeam in neighboring Napoleon about 30 miles round trip.  Pro Team is the largest classic Corvette dealer in the country with over 150 Corvettes for sale.

ProTeam is in the process of opening a second location in Auburn, IN that they plan to grow to the same size. Our tour guide said she would never say Corvette was the First American Sports Car again.

This was the fit and finish Tech Session lead by Tim Freshley.

I missed getting pictures of Chuck Koehler's session on carb rebuilding, it would have just shown a crowd of people, Chuck could not be seen in the middle.

Barry Seel and Butch Williams ran an open Tech Session to field any question, thrown out.  No one stumped them.

The club tried something different this year.  A car was made available to the club cheap and transported from MA by the Yankee Boys for expenses.  The directors decided to try an auction.  Written bids were taken Friday and Saturday and then bidding continued in the membership meeting.  After all expenses around $1000 was cleared.

It was getting warm on Friday afternoon during the Skillathon.  This must be an early air conditioner for the CC Crosley

Water race.  Such concentration.

No mosquitos were seen during the Skillathon.

Not sure if this was coast race or slow race.

Low sides should help.
